I became a regular customer at Sholes in about 1990. Since I always found it sad that the place was always so empty, it didn't take me long to begain scheeming on ways to get more people to go there regularly. I began quizzing Richard Sholes on what type of shows the place used to host. He was very proud of the place (rightfully so) but very protective. I eventually convinced him that you could host a family-oriented event with fun rock bands, and the AS220 Christmas Party at Sholes Hillsgrove Country Club Roller Rink was born.
The 1st AS220 Christmas Party at Shole's was held in 1995 and featured The Royal Crowns and  The Smoking Jackets. Maning the Hammond organ were the house organist Frank, and Keith Munslow. Mayhem was provided by the Big Nazo Puppets, fabulous holiday goodies were served up by Lisa Hendricks and everybody got a pair of skates!
